At The Crab Shack Central, our practice sought to honor the historical layers of the existing structure, a classic Saigon residence, by weaving its timeless elements into a bold, maritime-inspired narrative. The design is a poetic preservation of the past, where the weathered soul of old Saigon architecture—its enduring textures and nostalgic proportions—meets the clean, contemporary lines of the present.

The studio navigated the technical challenge of integrating modern structural reinforcements without compromising the building's original charm. By meticulously restoring existing elements and pairing them with high-performance materials, KADO delivered a commercial space that functions with modern efficiency while breathing with the authentic, storied atmosphere of old Saigon.
